USSF "F" License Course

Registration is open for the new  USSF "F" License Course

This USSF course will now be taken in lieu of the "old" WYSL 8-hour course.  It is needed for any TRAVEL Manager of our program.

This class is perfect for any parent, or 18+ youth, that is interested in coaching Travel Soccer, or would like to begin the process of gaining their soccer coaching license.  This is a certification geared specifically for the Recreational Coach. The main emphasis of the course is based on the unique characteristics of the growing child from a physical, psychosocial, cognitive, and motor skill acquisition perspective and developmentally appropriate activities for them. A detailed analysis of the modern methods of coaching players U6 through U10 is provided. Candidates have a chance to receive invaluable feedback from the instructor.

Risk Management

The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association has adopted a Risk Management Program in order to provide safe experiences for children.   This program includes risk management registration and background checks for adults participating in soccer through the WYSL and its Member Clubs.

All adults age 18 and older who participate in ENYYSA  soccer as Coaches, Referees or Club Officials must complete an on-line Disclosure Statement which will be used to conduct the background check.    Register on-line here.  You will need a credit card to pay the $12 fee for the background check, which will be good for two years.

If you are under 18 years of age, you do not need to complete the Disclosure Statement.

Concussion Awareness

The WYSL Board of Directors have unanimously passed the requirement that all WYSL licensed coaches complete the CDC Concussion Awareness Online Course before the resumption of League play for Fall 2012.   This valuable, short, free online course was developed to help coaches recognize the signs of a possible concussion and the proper steps to follow when the coach suspects a concussion has occurred. Upon course completion a Concussion Awareness certificate will be issued.

Coaches will be asked to have these Certificates in their possession for all their WYSL league games.
